Veggies Around the World: STOCKHOLM

Whenever I am planning my holidays, I go to happycow.net to find some veggie friendly restaurants to go to, and my trip to Stockholm was no exception. I found two lovely restaurants that you cannot miss if you happen to be in the beautiful capital of Sweden:

Lao Wai is a small Chinese restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, and their menu is 100% vegan. Their dishes are made with only fresh and GMO free ingredients, for example they use fresh garlic and ginger rather than powders, they grind their own spices and even roast their own nuts and seeds.

I had the Gong Bao Su Ji” (dish n. 12 on the menu) and I must say that I was very impressed by the richness of the flavour! You can definitely feel it when food is prepared with love and care. Expect generous portions and good prices, and don’t forget to try one of their organic teas served in lovely clear glass tea sets. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!

Book a table in advance if you are planning to go on a Friday or Saturday evening.

♥ If you prefer northern European food, you should opt for Hermans, a vegetarian restaurant that offers buffet meals with a good choice of vegetarian and vegan food, fresh bread and a selection of desserts. If the weather is nice you should grab a seat in back garden and enjoy the panoramic view over the water.

I filled my plate with roast potatoes, cous cous, hummus and fresh vegetables and I was very happy with my meal. They also have Yogi Tea and organic beer, and their prices are quite cheap.
