Springwatch Presenter Leads Reefs, Ruins And Rainforests Family Belize Tour
In love with the natural world since early childhood, Nick perceives perfectly why wildlife is so fascinating for children (and their parents). Ably assisted by Ceri and Elvie, Nick will take adventurous families on a tour like no other through the reefs and rainforests of this small, English-speaking Central American country.
In leading the Belize August family group, Nick will combine his training as a biologist with a relaxed ability to impart to others his passion for wildlife: a gift that has led to his considerable success as a natural history writer, television presenter and tour leader. Nick is also a professional wildlife photographer, and will be happy to give advice to budding snappers and old hands alike on how to capture that perfect nature shot.
Families will first venture into the forested interior of Belize, visiting Maya ruins, exploring wild rivers, riding zip lines through rainforest canopies, canoeing inside limestone caves, all the time marvelling at the colourful, diverse flora and fauna. Emerging from the jungle, the group will then set sail out to the sunny barrier reef for a contrasting six-night stay on a beautiful Caribbean coral caye (island) where they’ll enjoy reef snorkelling, daily boating, warm swimming and sea kayaking while simultaneously learning much about tropical marine ecology.
The thrilling experiences enjoyed in the rainforests and reefs of Belize will be recounted by families on this tour for decades to come.
The 14-day holiday (maximum 20 people) runs August 16-29, 2014 and costs from £2996 per adult, £2185 per child under 12 and £2497 per child 12-16. The price includes flights, transfers, guides, tours, excursions, accommodation and virtually all meals. Further information: 01803 866965; www.reefandrainforest.co.uk
