Designed in exclusive partnership with the RHS and led by two of the country’s leading horticulturists Jim Gardiner and curator of Chelsea Physic Garden Christopher Bailes, visitors can follow in the footsteps of the original plant hunters and discover the diverse flora of Mount Emeishan including Emeishan’s signature tree Davida involucrate on this fascinating fifteen day trip.
Guests will discover the botanical paradise of the Nine Villages Valley with over 2,500 plant species, before journeying to the scenic Ganhaizi Wetland in search of endless bulbs and perennials and the UNESCO listed Huanglong, with its mesmerising sparkling pools. The tour also visits the World Horticultural Expo Garden, UNESCO site Lijang, the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the capital of the Sichuan Province, Chengdu.

‘GARDENS OF CHINA’
This brand new 15 day tour from Wendy Wu Tours (www.wendywutours.co.uk) combines some of China’s most iconic sights with its finest oriental and botanical gardens. Designed in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), the tour begins in Beijing exploring its finest gardens and allowing guests to sample some delicious Chinese delicacies. From there, visitors are taken to see the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the enchanting Forbidden City. In Xian, guests can see the fascinating Terracotta Warriors and explore the Botanical Gardens and the site of the 2011 World Horticultural Expo, before visiting Guilin’s Botanical Gardens and the dramatic rice terraces. The tour ends on a high with a trip to cosmopolitan Shanghai to tour Chenshan Botanical Gardens, the Yu Gardens, the Old Town and a cruise along the Huangpu River.

‘CHINA’S MOUNTAIN GARDENS’ EXCLUSIVELY LED BY RHS SPECIALIST
Designed in conjunction with the RHS, this 15 day tour immerses visitors in the mesmerising beauty of Chinese gardens from day one with a private guided tour of the Chenshan Botanical Garden, Asia’s biggest greenhouse and home to over 3,000 plant species. Visitors will discover the magical Yu Gardens before embarking on a river cruise along the Huangpu River, with views of the impressive urban scene of cosmopolitan Shanghai. The tour then visits the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Garden of the Master of the Nets, before taking a cruise along the ancient Grand Canal. From there, guests will discover Hangzhou Botanical Garden and Six Harmonies Pagoda before taking a boat tour of the West Lake. On a visit to the lakeshore gardens guests will look out for exotic peach trees, willow, osmanthus and the famous lotus, after which they will explore Huangshan and Tunxi before travelling to Lushan National Park and Botanical Garden.
